Cleaning the CX bike
« on: September 27, 2011, 11:12:14 AM »
Perhaps a dumb question, but do you guys clean your CX bikes after every race? We have practice races every Tuesday and so far they've all been dry, dusty messes.. no mud or anything. So it could be an easy rinse job, but I've not done it. Also, totally clean/re-lube the chain after every race? I'm a total noob to this CX business. Not sure if that is overkill to clean it weekly or if it's cool to let it be a bit dirty at all times. It is CX after all. But a clean bike is a fast bike..

A clean bike is a happy bike and works better, when I raced CX, I cleaned my bike all the time.  I have OCD when it comes to bikes and tend to clean more then most, I can't stand a dirty bike.
