Sunday was a high of 25 here. I stayed to watch the 123 race after, i thought i would never be warm again.

Raced pretty well saturday, less well sunday. The super muddy conditions saturday combined with the drastic temp drop to sunday meant all the ruts froze, that was super tricky and i didn't ever really figure it out. Kept it upright in those sections though at least.

Did a lot of crashing, and I've managed to acquire a roughly 2" diameter bruise on my forearm from shouldering the bike so much.

I won a cyclocross race!  Lippman/Renegades 40+.  I was the only one in my category :)  This is the first time they've done this race as a weekend event and registration was super light for Sunday.  My field of one was combined with a bunch of misc: a super strong buddy who had already raced the A's but wanted to keep going, a decently strong singlespeeder, and some MTB guys who were doing it as a relay race, trading riders every time they passed the pits.

The course was somewhere between really tough and downright malicious, with at least 5 and as many as 7 running sections, including a deadly run-up and slide-down over basically a muddy cliff (sort of like a mud bouldering problem followed by a mud glissade), a piece of 3' diameter culvert pipe that had to be humped over on your butt, 2 different sets of barriers, and a gravel pit that had been raked into deep waves.  Plus a quarter-mile paved climb.  The only thing missing was some barbed wire, and maybe incoming enemy fire.

The A racer predictably beat me by a few minutes, I predictably stayed ahead of the singlespeed guy, and the MTB dudes were not a factor.  I got a medal, a bottle opener, a T-shirt and a slice of pizza.

Nice, GC! There's a lot of unsavory **** I'd do for a free slice of pizza and a t-shirt, so racing for one must've been a bonus.

30 degrees, snowing, and frozen ground on a non-power course to begin with. Rolled with grifo's because knobs weren't biting anyhow, bobbled a whole bunch, sometimes even on purpose! 4th on the day.

2nd in the series. Not bad for a sport i just kind of do and don't really train for.

Also, turns out this was a chain link bent about an entire chain width out of line. Discovered this the morning before my race because, well, I procrastinated hardcore on cleaning my bike. Thats a fun thing to fix the morning before a race!
