I just finished watching too.  Great race.  What a performance by Nys.

Epic conditions too.  Reminded me of watching Bart Starr.

I'm so frustrated with the weather right now, both here and there.
Do you think we're gonna make it? / I don't know unless we try / you could sit here scared to move / or we could take them by surprise

The course looked awesome, most of the courses round here are rocky, thru wooded areas, single track, etc. if they were more open like that I would love CX. I am thinking of getting a bike again.

I kinda felt bad for Vantornout, he blew his chances in that corner.

That's quintessential cross at that level though, one mistake/bobble in the last couple laps and you're out of it.

Yeah I know, it was awesome and bad at the same time, something as simple as running your bike around a turn and he muffed it.  At least he has the Belgian National Jersey to fall back on.

Watching that really makes me want to race CX next year.

Also, that was probably the best weekend ever. Holy isht that was a blast. I almost want to go to Richmond in 2015, but road championships simply cannot compare to cross. Ever. Wow. Can't wait til CX worlds comes back to 'Murica! It has to.

I thought about it after this weekend, honestly.. but nothing compares to CX spectating. I mean, spectating world championship road race kinda sounds fun, but also not quite as fun. Know what I mean? Like they fly by and you're done.

Didn't know the Berries had a Master's team in road or CX.  Other than accommodating Rand last year.

the rr course is usually loops, not as small as CX loops but they pass by multiple times, I think last year was 7 or so laps.  But yeah, CX is a whole different ballgame.

Richmond is only a 5 hour drive, I am hoping to volunteer, try and get some behind the scenes access.

What utility is a runner at a bike race?  Actually that sounds like you could probably get an enjoyable position if you got in early enough.  One thing I learned early in life was to never take a field position when you can be sitting in the VIP tent doing nothing.
