Never done CX before, so this will be my first year of it. I didn't want to throw down a bunch of $ for a dedicated CX bike, but I'm guessing I will after I try it
So, I took my Planet X Model B wheels and threw some CX rubber on them, and slapped 'em on my commuter bike, a 1990 ST400. It's a size too big for CX, but it'll let me get a taste of it just fine. Bike's setup with RSX 2x8 setup. Chainrings are 50/39 so I'm expecting to live on the 39-tooth. Cassette's a 11-28. Should do the trick. Just a hair over 24lbs. It's not light, but I don't care. The goal is to have fun.
Took it out last night for the first shakedown run. Some off-road, some on. Awesome fun.
