Bring your wisdom, ears and all of your favorite car or bike (the kind with a mechanical engine, not your legs) stories!

I gotta say, firing up a 4.6L Ford v8 after you finish up the twin-screw supercharger installation is pretty otherworldly. What takes it over the top is the first time the loud pedal is mashed out on the road. Did that to my '02 Mustang quite a few years ago now. Don't own the car any longer, but it was a fun run. Lots of 1/4 mile runs, car shows, and it culminated in a magazine feature of the car. Good times.

Now what trips my trigger is diesel engine "rattle" and turbo spooling up (Jetta TDI).

When I was young(er) the bark of my CR250 MX bike was lots of fun too. I actually enjoyed my RM125 more since that was a lot more controllable and much less of a handful in the air. The CR was brutal in every sense.

My car.  The side molding and the 2.3 have since been removed, Simota CBII SRI added.  I will one day get all black wheels to replace the stock snowflakes.  I really wanted the Speed3 but my lovely wife refused to learn to drive stick and there are times when we need to swap cars, oh well.

My current ride...although I wish I'd bought a what WC owns.

My favorite sound was when I was at the track early and the sun was just coming up and I was firing up this baby.

This would be the other car we're looking at.  You like it?

That's got to be worth 2-3hp right there ;)

I wish I'd bought one instead of my Sportwagen.  Much bigger fun factor and not much smaller. Better gas mileage and better build quality as well.

The Mazda has a better build quality than the BMW?

 My baby:

 2011 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport - 5mt

Only mods so far are tint, RA UR flaps, and hood shield. I have plans for winter/summer wheels, Whiteline RSB & endlinks, sport grille, Kartboy shift bushings and short shifter, and an SPT CAI.

Yeah I loved that car. I won a lot of races in it, that picture was the first test I did in it and out of the box it was just fast.  We'd just done a base set up on it after that I only messed with sway bar settings.  Some chassis just have that magic and that was one of them.  The engine that Quicksilver built for it was one of the top engines they'd ever built.  They offered to buy it back from me anytime I wanted to let it go.  I ended up selling the entire package, car, spares, tools and trailer just before we moved to Austin the first time.

The last race I did in it I had a horrible qualifying session and started dead last on the grid.  My crewchief (read best buddy who worked for free) made a radical change to the rear sway bar just before the race and didn't tell me. Suddenly the car was on rails and I went from dead last to the lead in 6 laps at California Speedway.  Held the lead for one lap when I decided I could go into a certain turn just a little deeper...I was wrong and spun.  Dead last again, finished second 4s off the lead.

Honestly, I really like it.  It's peppy enough and fun to drive, a turbo speed3 or wrx sti would tempt me to drive faster and probably get into trouble, tho I would love either of those.  The sport tronic shifting is fun but doesn't replace real stick shift.  As I stated earlier my wife can't/wont drive stick so this is a good compromise.

For the money, it's a nice little car that's sporty and fun to drive.  I would definitely recommend it.
