I am not a huge NBA fan, but the 76ers are exciting to watch, so far this year.  I hope the new ownership can turn the ship around.  The new CEO below (not the huge blue blob

I miss the Celtics/Sixers rivalry.

Moses eats sh*t.
Red (RIP) ripping the jacket off of Billy Cunningham's back.
Cornbread bouncing the ball off of Moses' head.

Great stuff of legend.

I don't think I was even alive for most of that.

Heh.

don't worry shovelHD, I remember that stuff.  But I remember the Knicks/Celtics series from the 70's and 80's better.  I would beg my dad to bring me to The Garden (the real one, not that thing in Boston  :D ) whenever the Celtics were in town.  When Bird was playing, you usually beat us, but it sure was fun.

MSG is the mecca of basketball. No doubt. But don't you be bashin' The Garden. If you never saw a Celtics-Lakers or Celtics-Sixers game there, you have never experienced total insanity.

I've been to many Eagles-Cowboys and Flyers-Rangers games.  I was at the 2008 WS game 5.5 when the Phillies won after the long drought, I've been to countless Flyers, Phillies, Sixers and Eagles games.  I've experienced insanity on the sporting level.  But most of the sixers games I've gone to was in the late 80's and early 90's when they stunk.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that Boston is the be-all end-all of pro sports. Not even close. My point about the Garden is that it was a special place. Think Sixers playing in the Palestra instead of the Spectrum.

Shovel, I was just busting on you with the whole NY/Boston rivalry.  I loved the Boston Garden.  The parquet floor, the fog during hockey playoff games.  It was a special place for sure.  I got the exact response I expected.  :P

The shot of Kareem with his head in his hands, then the shot of the thermometer at 105 degrees.

Well the 76ers got beat last night, as I mentioned, I am not a huge b-ball fan, but this team is young, plays like a team and has a great coach.  I am excited about the 76ers for a first time in a long time.

I think anyone who had a doubt was buying into the hype over the Bron Bron/Wade garbage. Those guys don't play basketball, they run up and down the court trying to get their dicks sucked after the game.

The only guy who can give Kobe a run for his money, as far as who is the best pure player, is Kevin Durant.
