I think that this is geekalicious - Asteroid mining company Planetary Resources to launch first 'Arkyd' spaceship within 24 months

Between this and the 100 year starship project, at least one sci fi geek is feeling like he was born a little too early.

Don't be concerned, it just means that you knew the material.  When you use the full 2 hours is when you should be concerned.  The best thing to do now is go have a beer.

I think I might just go partake in an ale tonight, and a movie. I haven't had time to do either of those for a couple months.

Do you have a movie in mind? I want to see Dark Shadows... looks funny.

+1  I also want to see The Dictator.  It will be stupid, but I think funny as well.

I want to see that as well, but I just found out my bestie is taking her niece out for her birthday tonight and she wants to see The Avengers. Maybe I can see Dark Shadows this weekend.

I'll probably buy The Dictator, put that next to Borat and Super Troopers.

I have a new project in mind that will be a marriage of both my computer geek and audio geek sides - I'm going to be putting together a small PC that I'll use for a dedicated music playback. There are going to be several challenges, but I think that I've got a decent plan. Above all, I want it to be small and quiet (not audible from 8 ft, or so), but at the same time, the graphics engine needs to be powerful enough to not lag when driving a 1920*1080 touch display.

So far, I'm thinking...

Antec ISK 300-65

VIA VE-900 MoBo/Processor combo -

Dell ST2220T multi-touch monitor -

And JRiver Media Center, which supports touchscreen operation. It'll be so trick -

A little down the line, I want to add a PCI card for better USB outputs (better noise filtering/better clocking) -

Why not wait for Windows 8?  Everthing and then some will be touchscreen.  BTW, you could do much than the DELL if you wait a few months.  Christmas in July is a reality.

I'm not going to rule it out, but I'm not going to worry about, either. This is going to be very a purpose-specific build - it's going to live on my stereo rack and only be used for music fetching/playback. Maybe I'd do some light browsing with it, too, but I still like the form factor of a desktop for most applications, so I don't know what else W8 might bring to the table, in this case.

The pricing on the Dell, BTW, is really, really reasonable - ~$300 for an 22" IPS touchscreen? Yah.
