Jen. You need to really ramp up your riding now.  LONG rides every weekend (like 100miles). Experiment with nutrition, what works for you and what does not

A full IM is totally about nutrition, you need to be able to get off the bike without any depletion of glycogen, or you will blow up on the run.  Your swims need to be long as well. By ramping up the swims and rides, you will increase endurance without overstressing your joints and tendons.

I have to focus on my training consistency. Bff's health is improving, so I'm hoping that combined with improvements in my knee will allow for more regular training. I'm planning to do more ocean swims too. It will be a challenge but I have no doubts that I can do it.

No hills!  :bday:

Quite a few tri-folks do these things.

Thanks Ru and LAJ! The thing I hate about where I live is I only have one long ride I can do without driving to it. And even that one kinda sucks because it's stop and go.

Ru, that's a good ride and only about a 15 minute drive to the start-ish area. I like. The part down US1 sounds a bit sketchy but it isn't too far.

Jen, most of the long rides I do, I just leave home and find a road and go.  If I get lost, it just means I ride further.

Jax is a pain because it's surrounded by a river - most of the bridges that cross it aren't bike-legal. I hate the way this city is laid out. If I move houses, I plan to go somewhere that is more bike route accessible. I wasn't a cyclist when I moved to this 'hood.

You will find a way, Jen. The bar has been raised. Go get it.

Good luck Jen.  The course looks like it will be perfect for you first full.
