Boo.  They had to cancel the swim because of all the rain.  Just a 40k bike 10k run race now, not a full duathlon.

I was surprised they canceled it this early, as usually they wait until the last minute.  Sucks, but at least for me, it means I don't have to bring some stuff with me to DC.

In reality, I'm just hoping for dry weather at this point, my last race in August was in a full-on downpour ( they shortened the swim and bike to sprint lengths ), and I don't want the quagmire that was last years transition area again, either.

How is your knee?

God of the Knees, please send Jen and I some strength.

Not good. It's held me back from training quite a bit. But, I've also been pretty conservative and haven't really pushed things. A long term knee injury is not something I desire.

Well best of luck healing up. Mine is just knee tendonitis and a slight groin strain that's been around for a while. It is what it is and I'm dealing with it.

Oh, I just saw a roll call on our club website and was thinking it was this weekend.  Good luck.

Oops, moving the rest to the race report thread.

Signed up for one last race this year.  Giant Acorn international distance, October 1.  After that I'll transition to some running and trainer riding for the winter.

Good luck, Quel.

On the trainer is where your Powertap will really pay dividends. It's the cornerstone of an offseason indoor program.

That's the plan.  Spent a lot of effort this year working on a good aero position, so it's time to actually start putting out some real power in it.  The few interval rides I've done on that thing have fried my legs more than an most equivalent outdoor rides, so I think it should pay off nicely.
