Running with the Edge series Garmin
« on: July 30, 2012, 08:52:25 AM »
So Alex pointed out that there is a watch band that will work with the Edge series as seen here(eBay Link). Nice option but the unit gets turned sideways. Not really an issue but for some it could be. So I was perusing the interwebs this am and found a video of a guy using his handlebar mount on a 1 piece velcro band so that the screen is oriented in the proper direction. Genious! I think I'll probably go this route since it should be easier to read and I'll have a use for that Road ID band I don't use anymore.

Sorry if it's been discussed. I was probably out saving an old person with chest pain when you were talking about it.

ahaha Nice. Never would have crossed my mind. It's a great idea, however I'll keep on using my wristband now that I paid for it :P
Challenge it because it is unreachable.

Why not just get the official Garmin one?

edit: oh ebay link is official one.  Just different, weird.

Yes, my girl uses it for her 910xt, but the kit came with the same twist lock mechanism and orings for the bike, and she twist locks it onto her wrist.  It's identical even if Garmin doesn't advertise it as such.

reminds me, I've heard of a bunch of triathletes(on slowtwitch) losing their 910xt in the water during triathlons because of that special wristband instead of the regular one.

That could get expensive.
