Don't wear your underwear under your shorts.  If you must wear underwear, at least do it over your shorts.

That's more of a statement than a question?

Will my average speed increase by 2 mph if I spend $3k on carbon wheels?
You can be the strongest guy in the field but if you don't know how to use it, when to use it, and have the b*lls to use it at the right time, you'll lose.

Alright, I know all of you are joking, but we really want this to be a good resource for new people.

Somewhere along the way in the last few months I ditched the underwear under the bike shorts.

He probably had chafing. Experienced or not, many people don't realize that not everything is the same for others as it was for them. I don't get chafing either, and I'm glad because the thought of chamois cream seems really annoying to me.

I had never had chafing, but tried some chamois cream on the rec of my LBS.  He gave me some free Butt Butter.

I used it before a solo 90mile ride last summer (90deg the entire ride) and I was much more comfortable than I usually am after a long ride.  I had less butt soreness.  It was probably a placebo, but so what.

I never really had any issues, at the beginning of a season and randomly throughout I'd get minor sores but never anything that made me think I needed chamois cream.  Chamois themselves have come a long ways in the last decade(s) but chamois cream isn't dead yet.

If you don't want to use it, don't try it because I suspect most people would continue to use it.
