A little short of three hours today. About halfway through the drivetrain starts sounding like ass, does random phantom shifts and occasionally drops the chain off the small ring. I stopped a couple times to poke at the rear der and check for cables issues but everything looked good.

As soon as I put it on the stand at home the problem was obvious.

KMC X10SL - that's the replaceable link.

Obvious question but I have to ask.....was the link re-used prior to the break?

"No". I have a dim recollection that I didn't get it fastened quite right when I originally installed it and had to disassemble and re-attach. It had not been ridden between.

The frame, and my arm, are both repaired now.  The frame doesn't look perfect but I think they did a fantastic job for $225.  It cost a lot less than the arm repair.
