First ride since Sunday.  It's good to get back in the saddle.  However, I had to detour because a section of MUP on the route is still under snow.  I tried to ride a bit of it nonetheless and got ice packed in one of my cleats.  Thereafter I couldn't fully clip in.

Oh, and it's also 27F out.

Other than that, it was great!

2 hrs of easy riding today, after 2 months off. I hope I can get up and go to work tomorrow!

It was pretty darn cold on the evening return trip.  My feet and fingers were starting to go numb.  Fortunately it was only eight miles.

Very rarely (once every several months) apart from the times the cleats have gotten gummed up with mud or ice.

for some reason I have lost a lot of cardio fitness. the last 2 weekends I have felt really unable to push on for longer periods and had to drop the pace. It's starting to annoy me. I think tomorrow I will go to the park and test out my fitness level.

I do know that my legs are stronger from the ridingi have done which tended to be shorter rides with hill repeats but my cardio fitness is poor. typical winter effect? maybe.

I typically don't push it real hard in the cold.  I'm doing good just to be out there logging miles.

How much rest have you had in the last two weeks? Any easy days?

lots of easy days.

I hurt my back last week, so yesterday was my first day back doing any exercise.  90min on the trainer.  Today, I'll ride the beater bike to the gym, work out with weights and eliptical then ride home.  Tomorrow is swim day.
