Ross Tucker did analyze the 2014 Tour. I remember paying some attention to it but to be honest I wasn't very interested in the Tour in general once the GC contest was over before it began. I never thought Nibali was clean. His Hautacam climb put him right up there with the doper times.
This was after two straight years of Sky blitzkrieg though, and lots of bull**** from Brailsford in lieu of transparancy. I am jaded though, since I was a cycling fan back during the Postal era. I had seen this kind of game play before and thought it wasn't likely to be real.
Had Froome stayed healthy I think we would have seen another blitz. With Nibali capable of some pretty dopetastic performances, it would have been interesting. It is tough to go against a whole team of supermen however. That's the main issue with Sky, just like it was with Postal.
Geraint Thomas also was riding with a cracked pelvis. Cav gone after day one. That tour was even more of a downer than this one. Sagan has been the big breath of fresh air.http://sportsscientists.com/category/cycling/tour-de-france-analysis/2014-tour-de-france/
